WHAT SCARES YOU?

There were some guys who faced down fear as they were thrown into a fiery furnace because they loved God and refused to bow down to a statue created by the king to honor him instead.

It’s a crazy story though because they actually survive being thrown into the fire. What’s even crazier is the statement they made before getting tossed to the flames.

“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it...But 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 he doesn’t, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel‬ ‭3:18‬)

They believed in God’s power to save them from the flames. They also loved God enough to trust Him 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 He didn’t do it.

Woah.

Believing God can do something is one thing. Trusting Him with the option to not do it and loving Him regardless is next level faith.

Most of us don’t have the risk of being tossed into a furnace today, but there are other fires that can surround us.

Someone dying...

Divorce...

Losing your job...

Broken relationships...

Serious illness...

Anxiety...

When you are facing some of these flames, could you make an 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 statement?

Lucky for us, God set the example and did one better.

“God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We didn’t earn what took place on the cross. But instead of waiting until we were enough, God proved how much He loves us by doing it anyway. The ultimate sacrifice has already been offered for each and every one of us even though we didn’t deserve it.

He’s an 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 kind of God when we’re still figuring out the 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟.

So, think about the fire you’re facing... 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 your prayers aren’t answered the way you had hoped, can you still trust that He loves and cares for you?
