Great is Your Faithfulness

Have you ever felt like you messed up so badly that there is no way God could ever forgive you?

It can be really difficult to navigate the grief we feel when we have rebelled against what we know God has called us to do.


Lying, stealing, and cheating come in a variety of shapes and forms. But they all lead to the distress described by the author of Lamentations.


Turmoil that leaves our souls troubled and our hearts overturned 💔


Jeremiah was writing about the failings of God’s people in Jerusalem. Knowing that they had missed the mark and were now feeling the suffering that comes as a result of living apart from God.


Like those people from thousands of years ago, we continue to face condemnation for our own unfaithfulness to God when we choose to live our own way after claiming to place our trust in Him.


But even if that sorrow is where you are today, it doesn’t have to be your final resting place.


Lamentations may seem like it is all about suffering, but it is actually filled with hope.


Jeremiah reminds the people of Jerusalem (and us) that God will never run out of compassion for us. He is merciful and gives us opportunity for renewal in His presence each and every day.


You are not too broken. You have not failed too miserably. You are not too far gone. You have not messed up beyond what forgiveness can offer.


His faithfulness is greater than all of our sins when we seek Him from the depths of our souls 🤍


“I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬-‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬
